Water sustains, shapes, and tells the story of Ibiza. For centuries, Eivissa’s wells were the island’s meeting points — not only as essential community hubs, but also as places of ritual and celebration. Today, as the aquifers run dry and the island faces one of its most urgent ecological challenges, we look again to water — not only as a resource but as a reflection of our culture.
In this first TEDxIbiza Salon, The Culture of Water, we gather at La Granja to explore water from multiple perspectives: ecological, historical and cultural. From folklore to heritage, from local traditions to community rites, our speakers invite us to see Ibiza’s water crisis not only as an environmental issue, but as a cultural one.

- Martin Davies - writer, editor, cultural historian and founder of Barbary Press
- Rafael Tur - environmental activist, spokesperson and treasurer of la Alianza por el Agua and la Associación de la Valle de Rafal Trobat.
